Built for US construction estimators

Every lumber note in your drawing set.Extracted, categorized, exportable.

Upload a construction PDF — scanned or digital, ten pages or two hundred. Note Reader reads every sheet and pulls out framing, sheathing, connectors, headers, shear walls, and fire-treated call-outs. Ready for your takeoff.

Upload the PDF

Any drawing set, scanned or digital. Batched page-by-page so 200+ page projects work.

Framing, sheathing, connectors, LVL/PSL, hold-downs, headers, fire-treated — nothing missed.

Export to Excel

Clean notes log, grouped by category, with page + sheet references. Drop straight into your takeoff.

What Note Reader is

Note Reader is a reading assistant for construction drawing sets. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of sheets looking for written call-outs, you upload the PDFs once and the app returns every note it finds — with the sheet number it came from and a plain-English explanation of what it means for your takeoff.

How you use it

  1. Create a project and choose Lumber Estimation or Full Scope Estimation.
  2. Upload one or many PDF sheet sets — the app shows an estimated time and keeps working if you navigate away.
  3. Review the extracted notes sheet by sheet; anything low-confidence is flagged for you to verify.
  4. Export everything to Excel or PDF: sheet number, note text, and explanation side by side.

Why it's useful

  • Turns hours of manual sheet reading into a few minutes of review.
  • Nothing gets skipped — scanned pages are read too, not just digital text.
  • Every note keeps its sheet reference so you can trace it back instantly.
  • Scope options let you include or exclude trades like trusses, steel or fasteners.
  • Exports drop straight into the spreadsheet you already estimate in.

Won't miss the truss exclusion again.

Every scanned page is flagged with a confidence score. Anything below the threshold is marked "please verify" so you know exactly where to double-check.
